Family Scholarship

Updated: Dec 20, 2021

The Hall family, longtime Chautauquans active in the Chautauqua United Church of Christ Society, established the Hall Family Endowment to support families with young children as a means to make it more affordable for them to enjoy the Chautauqua experience. Specifically, the Endowment offers a grant to cover a family room at the Mayflower for one week.

Preference will be given to a family staying at the Mayflower whose child or children are new to the Chautauqua experience, and with at least one child from birth through 5 years of age. If no such family is identified by January 15, those families with young children who have attended in the past will be considered.

Applications may be submitted beginning December 1, and the recipient of the grant will be notified by January 20, in time to complete the regular room selection process by the priority date of February 1. The grant, if received, will be applied to the room costs directly.

Currently, ONE grant will be given for the 2022 season, up to $400. The family who receives the grant will be given priority for their week of choice, and for an appropriately sized room (family suite, double or triple) based on the size of the family.
