Week Seven August 6 - 13, 2016

The Rev. Dr. Robert R. Bottoms

Born, Bred, Wed; Baptized, Confirmed and Ordained in the UCC; educated at Elmhurst College and Eden Seminary Bob is a son of the UCC.  Born in St. Louis, Missouri he was baptized by the same pastor who baptized and confirmed his father.

His primary call has been Parish Ministry and since ordination has served in urban, midsize and small city settings.

Convinced he would attain the status of Triple-E, he broke the pattern by attaining a D.Min. from Drew University.  And later became the first Protestant (and the last, but that's a long story) to be admitted to the Program for Church leaders at the University of Notre Dame.

Phyllis and Bob have travelled to the Holy Land.  Bob has led Mission Trips to Back Bay Mission as well as a Mission Study/Work Camp to the Philippines all of which have help to shape ministry.

He holds an Ecclesiastical Endorsement for Chaplaincy and served four years in the pastoral care department of a regional Level I trauma center.  He is also a Certified Transitional Interim and is presently in his second interim position.

He and Phyllis have been married forty-seven years and are parents of two sons and proud grandparents of four who live out of state.  In their spare time they look forward to regular visits. In his spare time he serves as the Dean of the NWOA Lay School and sings with the Sandusky Choral society.
