Week Four July 15 - 22, 2017

The Rev. Angelee C. Benner-Smith

Angelee Benner-Smith is a native of Philadelphia and has served since her 1987 ordination in the Pennsylvania Southeast Conference (PSEC).  Her first  ordained pastorate was in the North Penn Association and since 1993 she has served as pastor of UCC East Goshen (an open and affirming congregation) in the Ursinus Association.

After attending inner-city school in Philadelphia, Angelee graduated with a BA in music education from Mercyhurst University.  She received a Masters of Divinity from Lancaster Theological Seminary.  Currently she is enrolled in study toward a certificate in Gestalt Pastoral Care.  She has taught music in Rochester, New York, used the art of clowning with children in hospitals, sold her 3 Karat Carrot cakes at farm stands and spent part of her 2001 sabbatical living at the Northumbria Community in England.

Together with her husband of 27 years, Allen, she has three sons ranging from 23 - 11 years old and two small granddaughters.  On vacations they tent camp staying in National and State Parks, and seek meals at old stainless steel diners checking out their rice pudding!  Angelee's warm, welcoming spirit, usually includes a hug!!
